I'm using a Vox Amplug AC30 to play in camp when I stay-in and it is simply AMAZING.
For just $56 (if I remember correctly) I could get quite authentic AC tones from it, when compared to my Night Train at Bright mode. It has that high end chime when played clean and the drive is good enough for classic rock. AND, it responds to your picking, meaning that dynamics come into play in this sweet little thing. Last but not least, it responds to your volume knob. How cool is that!
On a side note, there's a little bit of fizz in the upper frequencies and sadly, unlike a proper AC I can't swap the tubes for this one! The tone knob is a little hard to dial in IMO, and they should have made the sweep more usable.. Not complaining much since I do use a very bright sounding tele in camp.. Must try it with my SG one day when I bring it home..
But that said, I still believe the Amplug AC30 is an awesome buy if you want straight up tone for clean and drive, and a dynamic one at that. But if you still insist on the multi-effects, can't say much about the Pocket Pod, besides the Behringer V-Amp 2 perhaps?
A video of the AC30 recorded direct to the PC with a PRS Tremonti SE:

The cleans are somewhere near the end..

After hearing this I wouldn't mind one lol.. But I won't need it anyways..
