please recommend me a good distortion effect

hey guys, thanks for all the advise.....yea i realli want to settle on one good distortion pedal. any idea how much is the MI crunch selling at guitar77?

thanks for the info....hmm i just realised something as well...
when i play my guitar clean (stratight to amp) the lower 2 strings (E and A) gives a distortion.....not sure why.
could it be my pickup?

i just got my gutiar repaired at the peninsula shopping ctr basement ...the repair shop..around Feb this year.

hey mus...
try a amt electronics dt2 distation.
high gain pedal..copy of the sansamp gt2 but i finf the dt2 better.
i play around the same genre as u and so far this pedal is great!
recommend this...

hmm cool....
i just called guitar77......the miaudio no stock...why always no stock one everytime i want to buy something...so annoying hahaha.

anyway, how much is that one bro... the AMT....
and where to buy?

Stagheart: What guitar are you using? Is it distortion or do you mean it sounds fuzzy?
If it's fuzzy, I think the problem is fret buzz. Correct me if I'm wrong. I got it too when I'm playing a open low E string on my Les Paul but it doesn't bother me that much. Crunchbox no stock? Sigh. Such a popular pedal. =(

FFadzill: Hey there! Thanks for the recommendation!. It sounds really good from the website though. How much? Where to get it?.

mus : It sounds bad via my ZOOM 505 II, i try the standard preset,.,.it just sounded bad if using high powered amp like the one in jamming studio, but when at home using my 25 watt peavey amp it sounds okay. Bad as in , very messy and saturated.
the funny thing i noticed even at clean (bypassing the zoom 505 II) via clean channel (marshall amp) the lower 2 strings gives distortion....i realli hate it.
I know what fret buzz is and i dun think it's fret buzz. I fixed my guitar at the shop at peninsula basement, for 400 bucks.....such a noob i dun even ask what pickups they installed
on my guitar.

u guys make me wanna get the crunchbox too lol

but i'm just wondering.....y it's so well rated but there's so many people selling it at the moment...

might be coincidental ^^

stagheart: What guitar are you using?. I think it might be your pickup that's causing the problem. I don't know much about this but you can try asking a guitar tech about this problem? Maybe Beez.

Macca: Yeah man. I'm feeling very strong on buying the crunchbox too. Anyway, I think they are having a change of taste?. I got a friend who bought a crunchbox and sold it after 2weeks. His reason was "A change of taste". Haha but I think the crunchbox would be a good pedal to keep.

Personally, I don't like the distortion tones of most multi-effects processors I've heard. Which is why for distortion I go the analog route.

The Boss MT-2 I find is quite unbearable at most settings, difficult to find a nice sound and you can't just tweak it a bit and expect it to still sound nice. For high-gain, I'd recommend the Beta Aivin HM-200. Really powerful distortion pedal, and the tone and versatility is amazing for the price, too. $85 at Standard Value (www.standardvalue.com.sg).

Mus : this is my guitar : Yamaha RGX-521
made in japan, i purchased it in Sydney in 1996.

i stopped playing in 2000 and when i tried to play in 2008, all the electronic seems dead lol. that's why i brought to the shop in peninsula to fix everything.

not sure what pickup brand they changed tho.

I'm thinking of getting the pickup changed now plus getting the crunchbox. How much is the guitar tech or Beez charged for pickup change.

You can try calling Beez (97732633) and ask for a quotation about your guitar

OR

Drop by his shop at:
ROXY SQUARE 2
#01-125

I hear his good with guitars! =)

Cheers!
