Playing in a band

jamming with a band is definitely one way to improve yourself, imo..
but i think the right mentality is crucial too; there are some newbies that enter a band just to get the image set as being "someone in a band", while there are some others who can't compromise on their members' ideas or taste... don't know, i jammed with a couple of geezers like that before. really pissed me off.

i don't think i'd ever appreciate my musical instrument as much, and have enough passion to continue improving if i hadn't joined a band.. just a personal experience :}

Its very true, that through experince that u learn betta, its like in school, when you do ur hands on work u learn faster....

But it doesnt take juz joining a band to make you betta...

I feel the most important when u join a band is ur passion and determination towards ur instrument, teamwork and loads of hardwork.... Doesnt matter if u cant play well now, with passion and determination and hardwork ur already halfway there to be a good musician. When i sae teamwork, dont always be happy of wad you have - As musicians we should always be constantly improving our skills and always do your homework!

I've seen bands that want to improve but cant cause their members or member are happy with their skills and stubborn to learn.... As bands we should grow together... Learn and teach each other...

And finally always be positive, never give up.....
