Pickups HELP!

SOFTIES. I just bought a new guitar and I thought I should change the pickups to hotter and warmer ones. For the neck, I'm thinking of putting alnico II/seth lover/'59. For the bridge, I'm thinking of putting dimarzio super distortion/SD alternative 8 or duncan custom.. Can someone give me some opinions?

are the stock pickups THAT bad. i've tried kgarage les pauls before and i dont rmb them being super muddy or what.

what amp do u use? i'm sure u know an amp is the more important factor to your tone anyway.

the pickups u chose are kinda odd. low/moderate output pickups on the neck and extremely high output pickups for ur bridge. i'm sure you're going to get a significant volume drop when u swap from bridge to neck.

Haha. They are not THAT bad. They are not muddy too. But I want to play more heavy stuffs on it. Because, for the bridge, I prefer to play those leads and heavy stuff on it. For the neck, I prefer to play like some bends and warmer stuffs on it...

to be honest with u, imo as a last resort i'll change the pickups.

i would even recommend investing in pedals to achieve the tone u're looking for rather than changing the pickups. even if u changed the pickups to the high output pickups of ur choice, u play through a poor amp(i'm not assuming u have a poor amp) or without quality pedals u'll still sound crappy.

i can use the same guitar with stock pickups and, with a decent amp and a decent rig, i can achieve what i'm looking for. a pickup swap isnt always the remedy for good tone. there's nothing embarrasing abt telling ppl ur pickups are stock. really.

ritchie blackmore kept his fenders stock. randy rhoads gibson custom had stock pickups too.

I know there's nothing embarrasing... Lol. But my tele fitted with super distortion sound damn nice man... Okay, I think my amps ain't that good either... I myself don't really like using a lot of pedals you see... Anyways, what pedal do you recommend to kick up the boost to the pickup?:)

a good overdrive would be essential to pushing ur amp into saturation. turn on the drive on ur amp, maybe gain halfway. and use the overdrive as a clean boost. meaning, volume/output maxed, and gain zero or close to zero. dont stack the od pedal with gain on top of ur amps dirt channel. sure get tonnes of feedback

ibanez ts-9. budget friendly and does a great job giving sustain and that extra bit of gain.

a keeley ds-1 also works marvels as a boost. and can also do a fine job as a primary drive.
