Pickup wiring help pls!

Hi guys,

well im abt to order humbucker pickups from the U.S and hv them installed them here! Since my guitar is using a 3-way switch, i was wondering :-

1) Do all pickups come in standard or do i hv to specify dat my guitar is a 3-way switch so they can send me the correct one for my 3-way switch guitar?

Because there are also 5-way switch guitars and i assume the wiring is is different from the 3-way switch guitars ?!?!?!?

No matter. Just order... there's no wiring specific or switch specific pups, except for EMGs where you have to use different pots and stuff.

In anycase, these things don't cost too much, and they are readily available in Singapore. No biggie.

Your guitar is floyd rose equipped, so specify you want F spaced humbuckers. The X2N is f spaced anyway.

ive been reading stuff abt tis F-Spaced tingy but cant really get a proper grip on wat it really means!

can help me out pls!

Thnx Thor! ive read it before! but honestly, i get a feeling its like some kinda offets ting rite! whereby the poles are slightly offset from the strings!

The poles are spaced slightly wider. To accomodate the floyd rose spacing.

Also note that some humbuckers may not come with 4-conductor wires unless you specify it. The 4-conductor is only important if you want to do things like coil splitting or other non-series wiring options on the pickup. The kind of wiring configuration you want will affect the kind of switch (i.e. 3-way switch, 5-way switch, 5-way super/mega switch, etc) you want to use and that's not even going into things like push-pull pots and additional toggle switches. :?

in the case of the dimarzio pups you are ordering, they are all 4 conductor.

hi Murcielago ..for X2n i think it does not matter if its F space..
as its blade kinda pole piece..

so u gonna install the super2 at the neck?

dont worry the dimarzio package will include the instuctions that u need.
Unless u bought it used ...but still, u can always print the wiring diagram on the dimarzio web...

just take note if u mix and match pups...the levels may not match also even if same company so do yr research well...if you mix & match Seymore, Di Marzio etc - colour of wires etc diffirent....

It pays to research, study instruction manual and work slowly and meticulously....
