Pickup problem

Hi all, i recently put in a new bridge pickup into my tele, but i am experiencing a very weird problem. My tele is the 3 way selection type (im pointing this out cause there are 5 way teles out there), so ive got a new bridge pickup installed, when i put the position to the middle and the bridge and touch the strings there is this very loud hum, although from my knowledge, single coils have the nature to hum, this hum i am experiencing is way too audible. The WEIRD thing is that it occurs whenever i come in contact with the strings.

When i leave the strings untouched it goes silent. If it's grounding problem shouldn't it be the other way around??
Any softies have remedies for this problem?

Possibly a grounding problem, thats why it hums when you touch the string.

Hum is supposed to go away once you touch the strings in position 1 and 3.
Position 2, will never hum if your pickups are RWRP.

Of course, putting any pickups, humbucker or SCs close to an alternating current will cause hum; i.e large transformers, florescent light.

But if you point away from them, the hum dies down.
What you've describe sounds like a grounding issue.

its from ur guitar wiring... something wrong with the ground wiring

and the pick up ... one must have a RWRP to cancel the hum in middle position
