Pickguard like things

What are those things tat can be pasted on the guitar like a pickguard called?... it is something like a handphone screen protector

a plastic pickguard protector?what do you need that for?other people tear them off cause its irritating.

no not pickguard protector... i mean for guitars without pickguard u paste something like a plastic thing on it

see what i tell ya.nobody has ever come across the aforementioned.i assume you worried about scratching your guitar?

i seen it somewhere before... when i go davis try guitar tat time they paste the thing on the guitar

But usually, the plastic covering is to protect the pickgaurd. Or have you mistaken it for a transparent pickgaurd? Do post some pics from the net.

interesting, the cover, is it covering over the whole surface of the geetar body, with holes to accomodate the pickup, knobs, bridge? Or only covering certain part on the geetar, like near the pickup, closer to the knobs or somewhere else? On electric or acoustic?

heh, if its really that piece in the pic, handphone protector perhaps too small size liao, need to get either psp protector screen or ds lite(stick 2 piece side by side to make it bigger) and stick on it.

to save money, get those thick width clear scotch tape where people use to seal boxes kinda and paste

or if still dont want to step out of house, go kitchen open drawer and check if theres any left over plastic wrap for wrapping food. Its slightly thinner, but shud stick on the guitar body easily.

or pehaps to protect against pick scratches. Usually on guitar with pickguard, the area between pickups will have higher change to get scratched. When we emo emo, dig in hard to show emotion and intensity

the one i saw is shaped like and acoustic guitar pick guard but smaller

yeah true the space between the pickups.well in other words the middle pickup slot.but to have a clean guitar doesn't look cool.makes a person look like no hard work put into the guitar.scratches i mean.not dings or holes.

heh, different stroke for different people. None of which, is better over the other. Just preferences i guess.

as for the name of that piece. None i can remember and no memory of much place actually selling something like that just to stick on the guitar.

If die die wanna something there and the piece that davis is using, just check with them straight the best, imho. If not, we go round and round till new year, 2008, heh, still cant settle this.

if dont want die die must use the same one davis has, then we shud find out why they place it there and whether is there any other alternative way of achieving the same purpose which that clear plastic is there for, in the first place. Once the purpose is known, then maybe we can look at other way of achieving the same purpose but thru some other thing. other than the actual piece of clear plastic thingy
