If you have the knack for DIY-ing and stuff, sure - go ahead.
Soldering isn't exactly tough but it is an art form - you need patience, you need to be meticulous, you need to be neat, you need practice.
I DIY-ed because I needed to experiment with various switching/pickups and going to techs, up till then, I had spent like $60? Need to save $ for more important things like Macdonalds...
Anyway, it was a great journey of discovery. And hair pulling. And anguish. And burnt fingers. You get the picture.
