One day I show you my $35 pick. Hahaha. Yes. I did buy one.

On the topic of the stubbies - it was my introduction to the world of thick picks. I think thick picks are ... sort of a taboo thing. Too thick = ewwww, no way! You mean you can pick with that? While I don't expect to play fast funk rhythms with a thick pick as easily as with a thin one... a thicker pick affords stiffness and power. Taking a 1mm stubby and a 2mm stubby - do some rhythm work on gain. The 2mm actually gets more saturation out of guitar while the 1mm sounds like you lowered the gain a touch.
In anycase, stubbies... sound rather bland/dull. The material is dulls the tone somewhat. I think it works for bright guitars but for things like say an LP, then I wouldn't recommend it.

there would be old hags saying: Eh, you play bass with that, is it? that's how much 'respect' you get going round with thick picks...

wah $35?

upload a pic dude. wahahhaa..

i dont know, i just find thicker picks not meant for strumming.
the tone it produces its too... bleargh..

Its a balancing act.

Thicker picks usually have a fatter tone, more "output" because they hit the strings hard.

So if your setup is one that has been carefully tweaked and eq-ed to sound the way you want it to sound, a change of picks could very well screw up the sound.

guys how r 1mm picks to u? i feel they're too thin, really. 1.5mm is best for me. also i feel that picks of thickness 1mm n below tend to 'curve' towards one direction. am i the only one?
