PEDALS to get cool PINCH harmonics?

HEY guys,

I can get pretty nice and clear pinch harmonics if i crank up my gain on my pedal.
But I've always seen people - Steve Vai, Lukather etc, having nice and sweet pinches yet their gain aint that alot.
Eddie Van Halen is one of them too!

So.. Are there any pedals that can help me in getting nice pinch harmonics, without my whole guitar sounding metalish (lots of gain)?

Thanks!

add a booster to your fav od/ distortion pedal- this helps. pinch harmonics react better to saturated signals, as such, your pickups' output also plays a part.

Yo Bro Sub., any good booster pedals to recommend to get those pinch harmonics by Ritchie Sambora?

Peace! Cheers :)

IMO they use quite alot of gain and pinch harmonics relies alot on the technique also so i would advise u to practice before buying pedals or pickups.

+1 to subversion's post although i would prefer the boost to have more gain like a mild od or dirty boost so it has more harmonics. If u want the 80s sound, the boss MIJ boss sd-1 would be a great booster..other than that lots of overdrives when stacked helps to add harmonics.

hmm... no particular pedals in particular but i've used the following to good effect:

Clean boosters:
*Seymour Duncan: Pickup Booster
*EHX: LPB-1
*MXR: Micro Amp
*Tesla: Pickup Booster MK-2
*Carl Martin: Hydra Boost
*Behringer: Preamp Booster PB-100
*Vox: Distortion booster

Drive type boosters:
*Ibanez TS7/ TS9
*Boss: OD-3
*Boss: DS-1
*Biyang OD-7/ OD-8
*Biyang: Mad Driver
*Guyatone: OD2+
*Rocktron: Austin Gold

of course, if the pinch harmonics are not executed well, it would sound half dead; no amount of boosters could bring it up...
