SORRY I HAD TO SAY THAT! Heh!

Agreed with plainsman. The chinas and splashes are kick ass. The rest, not my cuppa tea. You might wanna go try 'em out in person, rather than relying on hearsay.

Yup I agree with the above comments. The Paragon China sounds killer. Trashy and cutting.

Personally, I don't really like Paragon ride though. Just not my cup of tea. But of course, you have to hear them with your own ears to decide if you like it or not.

I think is 4.8k... perhaps can check online and roughly gauge it ?

Personally, I love the whole paragon cymbals set :) Hi hats are bright and has a great "chick" sound.... the chinas, my goodness! love the 19" man! trashy and very sensitive... the splashes, personal preference, are by far the best I've heard :) the ride are great too, balanced and cutting, just that is rather big and heavy (22"). I believe you will not go wrong with Paragons :) don't be deceive by the sound, it sounds fantastic during recording... i used the full set for a recording before and it blew me off :)

Hope it helps...

haha.. the paragons are definitely nice! haha great cymbals. yea... hmm.. i heard and read somewhere. if you wanna mix cymbals. mix only within the brand. like paragons with hhx or something, as they tonal characteristics of all cymbals from the same brand are relatively similar. or should i say they can blend with each other.

thats probably the reason why many people stand and live by their favourite brand. so yea.

for me PAISTE!!!

The Paragons are gret cymbals. It's characteristics (and charm) can be heard if u're playing music that needs to be loud because the cymbals feels "medium" weighted. It might be too loud for some people's liking. So it really depends on the gig u play. I personally mix and match my cymbals now. But here here are my thoughts about some of the cymbals in the set.

What the guys said about the splashes (I love the 8" one) and Chinese cymbal is true. They're really sweet. As of the the 22" ride, I love it. That and the Chinese cymbal are my faves. It's not the kind of ride u can "crash ride" with, but in a band like RUSH where where guitars, keyboards and bass are pounding, the ride cymbals sticks out (not intrusively) well into the masses of noise. One of the cool characteristics of the Ride, and crash cymbals (16", 18" and 20") is the bell. Playing around the bell of those cymbals gives an additional voice to the already amazing set of noise the crashes creates. As a result I used the 20" a lot when I played in a "post-rock" band last time. As a ride, because it's a crash cymbal, the cymbal swells and swells and gives a really sweet crash-ride-washed out effect.
