Paiste Cymbals

Have to agree with faithsilence.

While the ladies (especially the lady boss when she's free) are ever willing to help, the uncle's plain annoying. The mere thought of him alone makes me think twice about stepping into Ranking to make a purchase. Right now I only go in to check if there are new stock for Evans (disappointing). And i don't go to Ranking unless it's absolutely necessary that I buy something from there.

The uncle is the typical, only look up to ang mohs or people who are in suits or shirts. Those in tees or bermudas (esp Asians) are poor chaps trying to sneak into his shop to listen to his oh-so-high-end-oh-so-expensive-Paiste-OMGWTFBBQ cymbals. That said, I can buy a DW kit if I wanted to and it is definitely not thru him.

I got class one lah Bruther - When the UNCLE saw me ( Always smile and serve me – asking How can I help you) …BUT…

I always say “ No Need “ – Jin Kiat knows what I want …I will wait Kekekekekkeke … Wah seh …. Me see beh eh sia one.

Whahahahhahahahaha ! - afterall what he knows about Cymbals

He pack my Cymbal that time - I saw - " Hey Careful har u with MY CYMBALS "

Hi kind people,

I'm a beginner drummer playing for about 6 months. With all the talk about paiste cymbals, i was intending to get the pst 3 set initially. But while browsing through this thread, i saw someone mentioning the Meinl HCS set going for $285. The price difference is nearly a $100 bucks i think(pst3 cost around $370?).

which would you all recommend?

And does ranking bring in Meinl cymbals?

Thanks many. :)

bluelime: Yeah, been playing guitar for quite a no. of years. Tempted to give drumming a try. :D

Drum_hobbyist: Sounds like a good plan. I will do just that!

Will head down to ranking this weekend. Thanks guys. :)

man i cannot stand lousy service. bleh! i just wished nigel had a better range. like he could steal the dealership from the ranking and sweelee.. better service. better customers. happy drummers!

thats why i rather get my cymbals off the bay. at least the guy on the other end of the com is nicer? hahahaha!!

-1 to bad service!

i tried the meinl hcs, paiste 101 and the pst3 at ranking the other day. i preferred the hcs, sounded much better. but i got the sabian sbr set at swee lee instead. haha.

Nigel is a musician himself, so as a musician, he will give what musicians will want: Quality service and professionalism. Alot of these jokers in Ranking and in other places are not musicians, I believe those who give better services are also musicians.

LOL! SBR is not bad. For me, not really impressed by the meinl cymbals. But quite like the ride signed by Benny Greb lol (for the fact it is signed by him) but it sounds too heavy for me.

2002 is nice IMO. Make sure u are buying or the boss will shoo u away with his stare and glare.

yeah 2002 is nice. Bright sound. Bright appearance

But kean i guess you might have to explore other option as 2002 ride might not be within your budget which you state in the other thread.

PST 5 ride also got the ting ting ting sound. Go beat merchant jam studio try out if you have the chance.
