Dude , O levels is your life man!!!! Get an O level certificate first then maybe you start considering studying overseas....

Since this is your O level year , might as well make full use of it.... :)

it is better to gain some experience in audio engineering before going for further education. maybe you like to let us know more about yourself in terms of audio engineering?

i attended FullSail in 1996, before that i already did 2 years of live sound, 2 years of studio and 2 years of music/audio sales. also many years of learning/playing/teaching music. ha.ha..ha... i am kiasu.

it is much more educational for me coz i already know the basic, i can zoom in to the hardcore stuff better.

* i also did SAE(singapore) before my NS, ha..ha..ha...

woah.. cool james.. thats kinda pro, but don u find it a waste of $$ learning the same things again?.. since u already went to SAE for degree??...

Firstly, i have some basic knowledge abt audio, like how a mixer works , how recording works ( i think ) , lol, have done some compositions of my own requiring sequencing etc... i do not really know aloot,

how bout la-selle?..

dude wanna leave must leave quickly the best if before you're 16 if not the army will send you the stupid liability letter and its nearly impossible to go overseas.

there are no schools that cater specially to the course you want at that age cause you're still in the high school age group. only when you graduate from high school at 18 can you move on to an institution that offers such a course eg. berklee if you can make it through competitive selection process.

hmm, i spoke with one of my IT music teacher today. He said that going to poly for the new music tech couse got more prospectives.. hmm..

it totally depends on how hard u werk to do well in the business, there's not teally a "best" school in singapore, but what makes u stand out would be how gr8 ur portfolio is, and datz thru ur hard work n not the sch, for they can only teach so much. IMO, u hav 4 choices,

1. Film Sound Video (NP)
2. Music & Audio Technology (SP)
3. SAE's Audio Engineering
4. Music Technology (LA-SALLE)

i don;t know if there's more, but these were the 4 i had to choose frm b4 i took option 4. dun ask me how it is, haven started sch yet.

ok, i guess my bet's on LA-SELLE or SAE .. i don really wana go SP, i don mind if i cant find work when i graduate, i want a good school that i can learn from :).. then i'll be my own boss.. haha..

u'll need lotsa input to b ur own boss, not as easy as it seems, werk hard 4 it, n werk even smarter! well, 4 me, i intend to set up a studio wif 2 other friends, abit easier wif the capital la.

I know I've said this so many times but you had the exact same mentality as me and I really mean EXACT when I was in sec 4. I did not wanna go SP for the audio tech course for whatever reasons I had and choose La Salle instead blar blar blar...you know where I am now lah right? :P

Just remember to work hard towards your dreams but at the same time , you should consider some courses in the poly although if none of them might cater to your interest , you might need a safety net to fall back on should your dreams be shattered. I'm not being a sadist but sometimes things may not work out the way we've planned it. I guess that was another of my downfall , I was so obsessed in wanting to get into La Salle music tech course so much that I did not bother filling up my online JAE poly course selection scheme. I just put real estate business at Ngee Ann Poly as my 2nd choice to "fill up" the 12 choices and that was it. But nonetheless I'm enjoying my course so far :D

haha.. for sure im studying audio engineering, if i cant get into la-selle or SAE, then i go poly for its audio engineering couse, then afterwards will go overseas for further studies.Even if i choose , i would choose something related to music, maybe contempary ;)..

and when i mean be my own boss, actually i meant, doing music and releasing as my own album or freelance :D ... haha..
