Hi guys,

I'll be going to Osaka for a short trip soon and was wondering which is the best Fender MIJ Strat to get over there. Pretty much the best deal with the best quality. Looking at a nice natural finish if there's one.

I'm more of an LP guy, but I'm looking to get an MIJ Fender Strat since I'm there. Have heard so much about them that I've got to get one.

I'd appreciate if anyone can give me directions, models and share your experiences if you've been there and done that. Super excited about the trip. Haha!

Thank you for your input in advance! :D

I'm thinking of something classic looking. Maple neck, large headstock. Cream / Natural colored. SSS pickups.

I'd appreciate if anyone who's been there can give me some information on where the shops are so I may zoom over once I touch down.

:D

If im going to Japan, which i will in september, i would not get a MIJ. I would get something that in SG couldnt get or rarely found, if you have the dough.

You going too? Wahaha!!!

We need to talk man... Hmm.... if its a company trip, could we be working for the same company? PM me or buzz me at 9762 9512 bro!

Get a green emerald luke. Japan only, gold hardware.

if you understand jap (or use "google translate"), try using this website which is very useful; just type the guitar name you want on their search bar or use their advance search where you will be able to choose the location as well:

www.digimart.net

you can find guitars that are currently available, on sale, prices, condition of the guitar and the location of the shop with map as well as their websites (if they have one)...

this is really helpful when i went for guitar hurt in Tokyo... beside just visiting Ochanomizu, ishibashi and rock inn...

i think u should get the ST-72 for the specs u're lookin for.

Cool!

Checked that out online. Looks really good yo!

Okay, now..... where to find in Osaka? Haha!

Is the ST-72 found in Singapore? Is it a reissue?
How much is it going for?

So sorry for asking so many noobish questions. Am really not quite acquainted with Fenders thus far.
Thanks for being patient with me.

leecs: Ha! We ARE from different companies then. I going Osaka start of September.

Hmmmm i think u might like the st-68 cause it has an alder body (better tone as compared to the bass wood bodies of the 72s), large headstock, maple fret board, c shape necks (more comfortable) and texas special PUs (SRV sounds)......basically a non reverse reissue of hendrix's famous axe.

Thanks dude,

I checked out the Fender Japan site, and I totally want that. You guys rock.

Its going for about SGD$1,200 based on the current conversion rate.

Anyone has directions to guitar shopping in Osaka?

music stores in japan are excellent and they will be more than obliging to get you anything you want... but if a particular model is not in stock, they will have to put an order for you. but unlike local stores where the waiting period is slightly less than infinity, it takes them about 2 or 3 days. this is more common with smaller stores

this is so funny.

leecs - i work at a company in tuas too, with lots of dealing with the Japanese market. Do you happen to be working in a company in an industry that is always being accused of ripping off customers? hahaha.
