Hey guy whats the differences between Orville and Orville by gibson? which one do you think is better as well? any price differences included too?

Lol.. Let me tell you something about Orville by Gibson..
At one point of time, the qualities were sooo good, it surpassed Gibson's quality..
Hence, production was stopped.. Get the point?
Orvilles are great too btw.. Both are meant for the Japanese market I think..
Neither is "better", as it is entirely subjective.. I honestly feel my Epiphone is better than most new Gibsons out there..

And as for price.. Gibson VOS > Gibsons > Orville by Gibson > Orville > Epiphone Elitist > Epiphone

re:

Theres a good amount of info on the net about these guitars. Basically, the main difference are

1. OBG - nitocellulose finish. Orville - Poly
2. OBG - USA hardware Orville - Gotoh
3. OBG - better wood

OBG are the premium line and hence more costly than Orvilles which are the economic line. But make no mistake both are quality guitars. An orville should cost less than elitist though.

My advice to get it locally if possible. Try it out first before u decide to buy it.

hmm... so orville by gibsons last time were better than gibsons themselves? cool shit... but production has been halted alr... where do you get any more orville by gibsons such as blackwood guitar's offering?

I mean... its out of production.. HOW do you still get orvilles 1st hand like from orangeguitars/blackwood or wherever?

oh yea... sorry for the noob questions.. anyone know the diff between orville les paul custom and orville les paul standard? basically whats the diff between custom and standard...really sorry to trouble you guys... new to the elec guitar world :D

Orvilles have been out of production since the 90s so your only hope is to get a 2nd hand model in good condition. Standards usually have rosewood boards and chrome hardware, while Customs are more 'bling', with gold hardware, ebony boards and diamond inlays on their headstocks.

If you want to get a Les Paul, I highly recommend you check out the Edwards at Davis. Google 'ESP Edwards'. They have nitro finishes (some models), Duncan pickups and you can buy them new if you are picky about the condition. The Orvilles, while well-built, have rather substandard pickups and usually call for a replacement set.

Mastershredder, it's simple.

just google "about orville guitar" and the best sites on the internet to explain to you will appear.

if you wanna buy from reliable places, just google "buy orville guitar". you will find what you want.

have fun! :)
