Ordering items from overseas?

I was thinking about ordering a mixer from overseas as it's much cheaper than getting one locally. However, i'm worried about the voltage difference(i'm not sure how they work). Will the product still work in SG? Anyone has the experience of ordering overseas?

then you'll have to get a step up step down transformer. then calculate again see if it's worth.

hmm, what exactly is a transformer? is it present in everyday electrical appliances?

emgee : hmm not that i recall but you're welcome anyways! i just try to make this section as lively as i can by doing a Q&A thingy

UK/SG all use 220Volt, US use 110V so a transformer is to allow use of something e.g bought from USA to be used in SG. common case with ebay. the transformer can cost anywhere from and to $60 etc. have you tried calling hungbros.com see how much they sell for? think "local shipping/transformer hassle and warranty" it may be easier and cheaper to get it locally
