Hey guys

I'm kinda new here and just started with an electric guitar but have been playing acoustic for 2 years.

I was wondering if you guys can help me out and give your opinions on the best amp for covering songs by Red Hot Chili Peppers. ( Californication, Scar Tissue, Dani California, Under the Bridge, The Zephyr Song etc)

Which are the best amps for these kinds of songs? I'm just looking for a practice amp. One that is like 15 or 30 watts. If you can, please point out where i can get these amps.

And does anyone else idolise John Frusciante out there?

Cheers guys!

Oh okay..so any amp will do..i was thinking of maybe an orange amp or vox..maybe the pathfinder 15..any other amps in the price range below $350 that you can suggest?

Thanks really appreciate the help!

Vox will do just great, Idk which series but there is one that uses a tube preamp and has 6 different amp models with built in effects, quite under your budget too

subversion's right. any amp will cover any song. its a matter of your preference. i suggest that u try out the amp whether u like it or not before you buy.
pedals distort the sound before the signal reaches the amp. hence if u get an amp with distortion efx, the distortion part will come from the amp itself. so an amp with distortion will distort at the preamp first (which amlify the sound a lil) then (major)amplify the sound again. u have to take note that in the amp box there are two amplifiers. also are u looking for a tube or an ss? do u want bedroom practice or gig? if bedroom i suggest that below 15w is actually enough for me. even as i have a large bedroom. for gig, will be above tt, or u might wanna consider a stack which consists of a head and a cab. yeah, u get my idea.

Cheers.

not quite true.. not all amps are built equally.. hehe
imho different practice amp models got different strength & weakness
for eg. kustom & vox excel on the cleans, while marshalls more on the built-in overdrive
the roland cubes are quite good too, all that built-in efx easy for practice just plug, tweak & play..

what i was trying to imply was, you can get sound coming from any amp, to some of us, selected amps are not distorted enough, not clean enough, not bassy enough, etc... it becomes personal.
