Opeth, I believe, will generate a crowd if they ever hold a concert here. Not massive but I think good enough for the Organisers to cover back some of their costs.
However, I do hope its not going to be held at Fort Canning... Comparing videos of their gigs outdoors and indoors, Opeth's music definitely needs to be played indoors for that "feel and mood" in their songs... If the Organisers are daring enough, can even hold it at one of the theaters in Esplanade, similar to their London gigs held at The Roundhouse and Shepherd's Bush Empire..
If they ever come here for a concert, for sure I'll be there!
yes!
agreed about the indoor venue, i've seen opeth 3 times, once in an outdoor festival..most of the vibe was lost it really wasn't the same.
bring it down and make it 4!
I would force all my friends to become worshippers of Mikael Åkerfeldt if Opeth were ever to come to Singapore!
I saw them 2 months ago and was completely blown away. Tickets were cheap - no fancy pyrotechnics needed to impress, just a full demonstration of sheer progressive death metal mania Music aside, Åkerfeldt is practically a stand-up comedian. Makes me wonder what sort of hilarious banter he'd have for a Singapore context...
The fellows here are right though - keep it indoors. Esplanade would actually be a pretty good choice.
Is LAMC interested in bringing them in? How do we get their attention?
im pretty sure they havent toured the sea area. but i know they transited in singapore once on their way to australia. hah. would be awesome if they came tho..
