on choosing acoustic guitars

lifehouse did a nice writeup on Eguitar, and i'm wondering if we can have another one on acoustic guitars.

recently i bought myself a cort earth 100 acoustic, satin / mat finish, full maple colour (i think..it's basically yellowish throughout). the tone is convincing but someone told me changing the nut and bridge will help sweeten the tone further.

advice?

ps: if i've repeated a topic just delete this, and pm me. thanks.

Few rules on selecting your acoustic guitar.

1. Check for bulging belly. You can see whether it's properly maintained or not.
2. Get a solid top as much as possible.
3. Hear if there's any funny noise inside which might denote a loose bracing or as such.
4. Check whether nut is properly seated.

I have a Blueridge Gospel copy and a Taylor, both had a tremendous improve in tone, more balance. Last but not least, properly dehumidifying is a very big factor in maintaining the structural integrity and the tone of your guitar. :smt045
