pic tells a thousand words

Hi Vernplum,

I can see the video now, as the saying goes , a picture tells a thousand words. With a video clip, it is millions of words and it also unbogged whatever question we have as we can see everything clearly in the video .

Good video and hope to see more from you :)

Cheers

its called the "feeling" moment.. where u play wat u feel man.. and make funny faces.. but ths the way u shld do it.. haha... shows more then jus playing the guitar.. u are feeling it!! hahaa.. oh yea vern..... i admire u man.. very clean techniques.. haha.. inspiration for me to work on my playing...

hmm i pick so differently...when i pick , i can see my pick hitting the strings but when i see steve vai , vern , dhalif and malmsteen , their picks just seem to touch the strings without hitting.

Some people call it 'economy of motion' i.e. the faster you pick, the less distance your pick should be travelling in between notes. Also, depends on how you angle the pick and how much of the tip 'digs in' to the string. You need to try to play (in my opinion) each note as loudly as possible at a slow speed first, without getting buzz (i.e. too hard) so that you maximise the tone from the string. With a lot of practice you can build up to shred fast and cleanly.

that is very true... smaller pick distance = faster.. BUT make sure pick digs in justttttttttt at the right amount...
