OM - Ambient wannabe meets RoCK

Hmmm, came up with this while toying with an old acoustic number. Believe it or not, I was trying to do some ambient/trip-hop - and ended with this, The Only One.

If you can bear with the mid-parts, there's a decent solo at the end - wee bit of Page meets Randy Rhoads.

Headphones would be good thing to ctch the stereo effects. Drum & pad samples are from IK Multimedia.

from ambient point of view and imho. The solo at the end seem a bit too loud in the mix, covering up the rest of the arrangement. Seem a bit out of place with the feel built up from the front.

Yeah bro Path, moi got lost somehow - in the grand scheme of things. The mix, the mix, the mix - yikes! I only know how to mix alcohol.

In all honesty the ambient bit was shortened a lot cos' during the first take, essentially a test, I had an idea for a solo bit at the end.

All in all, it ended up being more of a progressive rock piece than something ambient. To do a proper ambient piece I would either need a keyboard or a voice. That's for another time.

nice mood and atmosphere to it. never really had any experience with ambient stuff tho so can't comment much. sounds interesting. kinda interesting how u use instruments to create textures. cheers

yeah, it sounds more trip-hop than anything...sounds like the singer's trying to be beth gibbons even heh. but its nice stuff still

Thanks, guys, for checking out the stuff. Fibredrive, I like your stuff on your Website. I wonder why you don't post your stuff here - you should.

Thanks, guys, for checking out the stuff. Still lots of work and perseverance to get 'there' and it's not easy doing it alone, especially being musically illiterate. Someone should just invent/develop a band in a box software -
yeah I know of Cakewalk and their rendition but something more user-friendly and one that includes vocals would be nice.
