Numbness in hand led to pain

hi just a quick question.
yesterday when i was playing my baby for quite a long time,my hand felt numb.
despite the numbness,i continued playing till it worsen then i stop.
but when today i play my baby,my hand has a sore feeling.it felt sore only when im playing with the bar chord position.
could anyone tell me if the pain is going to continue ?

assuming you're playing guitar right handed, it's your left hand (fretting hand) that is in pain right?

which part of your hand exactly is in pain? is it, by any chance, the part in between your thumb and index finger?

having the right posture helps too. adjust the way you hold your guitar until you feel comfortable.

I have a torn ligament in my picking hand, and it locks up with pain if I play too long. At worst, it numbs up with no feeling. Do get it checked out, best if you can get an MRI to see if anything is tearing. It's important because my injury is permanent and I had to change my playing style significantly because of it--no more shredding for me, have to rely on my left hand a lot more.

Have a lesson or two with a good teacher. He or she should be able to diagnose the problem while observing how you play.
