At last, for those who have been waiting, this is the announcement of the year. Are you ready? No, really. Are you ready? Okay. Here goes. Nordstrand is taking a limited number of custom orders!! There are a few guidelines, though, so brace yourself.

First, the prices of all our models have increased slightly. This has been coming for a long time and the new numbers are probably still not as high as many people were expecting, however, so there's no reason to get upset about this one.

Second, all orders will require a nonrefundable deposit of $1000. In the event someone wishes to cancel an order he or she may sell his slot but we're looking for people to commit to these basses. A slot purchased from one of these customer moves to the back of the queue.

Third, our current estimate is that these instruments will go into production in a year. Please re-read that line. It is possible that the basses will start before that and it is also possible that it will be a slightly longer wait. Remember that we're building Nordy basses and making pickups in addition to the custom shop instruments.

Fourth, all orders will require a signed order form be submitted and kept on file with us once the customer has worked out all the features and options with Carey. In the event that any of the options change, the form will need to be re-signed and re-submitted. We are trying to make sure that there are no last minute last minute alterations and no miscommunications.

Fifth and finally, there are only 5 slots and orders are first come, first served.

Now, for those of you who were hoping to get some eye candy in this update, I apologize. But next week we will have plenty of goodies for you. Sam's NX5 has been painted and in assembly.Greg's NX6 and Len's NX5 will be coming back from paint. And major progress has been made on Matt's beautiful 4 string.

Happy days :)
