get a schecter.. decent guitar for a very decent price... g77 has schecters in stock...

i would actually start with a cheap guitar and amp - say one of those Squire packs. Only because you don't want to end up spending all your savings only to find that you hate the guitar.

Start with something cheap but functional. Then you can always save more and spend more later.

I know Luther Music has Behringer guit and amp for $230.

Shouldn't be too hard for a 24 yr old to earn another $230...

for your stuff, get a fender strat. head down to G77 or Davis, try the MIJ fenders, would cost you 900-1k. with the excess 500-600, get a decent amp. the cube 30 would be a nice buy.

talking abt noobs with big bucks, itz a common thing. rmmbr galvin? when he started out like me he sure wasnt a pro like how he is now. bt his guitar was always pro :lol: bt threadstarter..u noe itz a gd thing if ur keen on investing..itz not like ur gonna throw it away after u buy it. a gd amp w/ a mid-rande guitar plus a solid analog effect is $1500 well spent.
