Noisy boost

Hi, i just got a lpb1 boost from ehx.
I get this extra hissing sound even when the pedal is turn off, when my metal zone gain is full.
I did a test with just my metalzone n full gain on and there is no hissing. but when i line it up with the lpb1 boost even when its off there is hissing.
The funny thing is that when i put the ehx boost pedal stacking physically on top of the metalzone the hiss is gone. also when i touch the boost pedal with my finger the hiss is gone. Any idea how to solve? please help thx. Same thing happens even when i switch it just using batteries.

Hmm.

That's odd. I've used 2 LPB-1s myself and had no such issues. However it might be due to the MT-2 because it is set on full gain (yes i know that there was no noise when the mt-2 is by itself i read your post thoroughly). But what you're describing could be a grounding issue.

May I ask if you did this test with any lights or electrical appliances nearby turned on (besides the amp of course) and what guitar and amp you are using for your set-up?

Either that.. or is it a faulty patch cable, perhaps?

Thx for the fast reply. i was fiddling with the pedals. n i tried it with the MD2 now instead. someting i found out was that when i use another patch cable just to touch on the lpb1's casing (unpainted area) and the other end to the patch cable that is connected to the output jack of the lpb1 it is dead silent. guess that when i physically stack it on the mt2 previously it did some ground? i;ll try to find some wire n tape it to the 2 parts to solve this issue. Thx again for suggestion. i was worried it was a faulty pedal. but the funny thing is that when i shake the lpb1 sometimes the noise dissapears. maybe some part inside is touching the metal casing.

sorry din answer ur questions. lights were on and using a fender richie sambora strat n marshall valvestate 8080

I'm no techie, but my guess is chances are your EHX isn't properly grounded. Your analysis is probably correct, some part is loose inside or something.

i twisted a thin piece of metal wire around the output jack n then pasted the other end of the thin wire inside of the case edge. now its dead silent. Just want to ask those that have experience, if ground wrongly will i get electric shock if through the powerpoint --> amp --> pedal --> guitar --> me.. ? during a heavy thunderstorm or a blackout(short circuit or something) coz i read somewhere before that guitarists have died through improper grounding. As i know nutz bout electronics. Juz asking.
