About Shirlyn Tan
Shirlyn Tan is a singer/songwriter who constantly seeks inspiration from around her to write songs about people, her thoughts and sometimes her views of the world. She launched her debut album “Newfound Jealousy” in April 2007 and won two awards from Power 98’s Singapore Music Awards 2007 for Best Song (Window) and Best Breakout Band. Also the front woman of The UnXpected, she performs covers and some of her originals regularly at Wala Wala and Balaclava. Shirlyn writes her music with musicians from different bands to create a different sound from what her regular gigs sound like. She is currently working on her new album with some of the members of Singapore band Zero Sequence and drummer Brandon Khoo.
