No More Love

It seems survival has toll on many. It's like the love, the exploration has some sort disappeared.
I have recently met 2 seasoned musicians like that, it's disappointing! Is it the life of being a musician taken so much that stress has wiped out your passion of feeling, of understanding music to a different level, of exploring further beyond?

It's true, this kind of post is very stressful and will wipe out my passion.

Seriously though, you seem a nice enough guy in person, but what's with all the doomsayer posts? I'm sure (or I hope) you have some positive things to share from your years of experience instead.

Thanks Carboxymoron for being understanding, i guess I'm kinda down in a way. I do wish my comments could be an inspiration in a way though for people to improve.

hehe, the world wont end when 2 musicians lost their love, in a way, it will fit in the environment for survival of the fittest. Those who lost their way, will/should systematically eradicate themselves so that they wont be a hindrance to people who might wanna come from behind.

Anyway, for some positivity, let talk about how life has changed and what can be done to improve(personally, musically, or any form of improvement), after starting the last few threads on "musicians medicine, heroes and lost love"

Hehe, afterall, negativity cannot bring happiness and instead make people stay far away cos it has not much value in the current world situation.

It's some emo disappointment due to some band members who get so impatient for monetary gains and in result affecting everyone else by lack of involvement due to wanting fast success.
To me, as much as everyone(most), wants success and fame, if the approach a member has is that as top priority, often burn the band up before the band can even take off. Recently it is these 2 musicians, but I have encountered many before.
I find it important to take music exploration, passion and fun should be the top priority even though we all want money and need fame. Cos that to me is the roots of how a band can stick together in a long journey crowded with trials and tribulations

Seriously although i never met u in person, but u sound sincere and commited to Music, why don't u team up with your wife? U have been doing Solo work for quite long right?

Yupz, I did team up with my wife, the bandname is called 'Shixian', http://www.reverbnation.com/shixian
I just try my best... I was a songwriter like many back in 1994, over many years, I have wanted to get my own songs to good sound quality, like what I hear in radio, and the endeavor brought me to where I am now. I don't think I'm better than others, I can see many talents in the local market at the moment, even in the clients that come to me. I just received a demo from a guy called Marcus, great works, really got high potential. I would really luv to help him develop his song if not for my own survival. There are really good talents out there. And I guess I get upset that some people give up good potential songs for the sake of finances and whatever pride they have learned in the market.
I can honestly tell you, I've seen too many stuck up old musicians in my lifetime, not that I hate them, they are my friends, but the oldness, or whatever you call it, have made them so protective about what they've earned that they seem to have forgotten why they embark in the road in the 1st place. I wish they can just get that 'status' mentality out of the way and don't look down on young musicians but rather fill in their original passion and play together for the sake of making wonderful music.
But the hierarchy positioning of this world kinda irks me.... if it's to kill the passion, I rather not have it inside me. I speak in this forum with whatever I feel about, I find many afraid to talk, scared that they get trolled, but why be afraid? Share your feelings, whether it may be right or it may be wrong. We are all human, we have the right to share.
Sharing answers the questions better, and I believe the problems I face, many bands all over Singapore face it. Maybe I didn't make the best of sharing my statement in this thread, but well, yeap, I share it on iphone while I'm on the move. Common problems like band problems should be shared and related with everyone here, that if solutions and good feedback can bring about a better solution, why not? Why hide that which is evident among everyone for the sake of fulfilling a 'good' reputation that doesn't exist?
So yeah, thanks, ridethetiger, for respecting me in a way. Let's talk about how it's possible that we can bring music over status and hopefully bring more passion back to our local musicians.
