NO COPYRIGHT EXTENSION FOR UK
The Beatles, Cliff Richard and Jethro Tull's music will not have their copyrights extended beyond 50 years, an independent review commission has concluded. This means by 2008, Sir Cliff's first single, Move It, will be in the public domain and can be shared freely or be released at will by anyone who cares to. The review was conducted for Chancellor Gordon Brown by Andrew Gowers, a former editor of the Financial Times.
Currently, only the US and countries that signed Free Trade Agreements with them, have copyrights that extend to 75 years and beyond. $ingapore signed such an agreement. Malaysia has no such copyright.
