i'm gonna take up the guitar after my exams and was thinking for getting a Fender Stratocaster MIM which cost about 700 bucks .

just to clarify does it has a humbucker as i don't see it on the specs .
does it compliment the sort of songs i'm playing
(simple plan , MCR ,ax7 etc etc )

you can get the HSS variant of the MIM strat. they come in both HSS and SSS. with the HSS, you're pretty much set on any genre, as long as you have a decent amp.
