Hi guys, I've just started to pick up keyboards recently. Wondered if you guys can recommend something to start with? I've only got acquainted with Yamaha and heard bad reviews about Casio so far:

It'll be based on:
1) Budget below 500
2) Weighted keys
3) Keyboard Stand
4) Decent Sound

Is there anything else I ought to look out for? Oh yes, the keyboard is going to be at home and practice purposes. I really hope to find one with weighted keys but I realise this is not a key feature of the lower end keyboards.

wow those r a lot of features for <$500 lol

the only thing i can think of at that price is Casio! don't be put off la, the sound n feature set is really quite good & usuable at that price. I suppose the bad reviews are written by aficionados...

r u just looking for piano sounds or...?

keyboard stands are pretty cheap, can get for under $20 at Ranking sports, bras basah complex

hey there,

these criteria you had was seriously exactly what i had when i first started out finding a keyboard. but to my dismay it is really tough. At the end of the day i bought a cdp-200 at $899 (on the way from delivery).

But i guess if really u die die stuck with this budget, from what i gathered the last time, it will be yamaha np-30. Hope it helps! haha
