Hi CK,

Really appreciate the listening and comments. For the sake of my improvement, can you help me to analyse further because I need to know from songwriting, arranging and recording which aspect is the issue :D

The word Karaoke...my first thought is too much reverb..I suspect is the mixing portion. Overall the vocals, the instruments all have too much reverb?

Or is it the arrangement? hmmm....too much syn/pad used?

Or is it the melody which does not have too much peaks..too repetitive?

Thanks once again..

Cheers

hi Jon,

I am no expert, lets share opinions :)

I don't mean on the arrangement, mixing, playing or singing. I purely comment on the song itself. (those other areas will be another whole topic of discussions)

In Taiwan, when they say K-ge1, it usually means it's a popular song that people like to sing in karaoke. It's usually a catchy song but sometimes may be a little cheesy and common. So that's what I mean.

This song does have good emotions flow to the listener and very catchy which is the good part. Maybe it can even catch the attention of music company :)

I just personally think that having a refreshing melody but yet catchy and feel is the key.

A little opinion on arrangement. I think during the second repetition, can add a little changes to "let the listener have more to expect"

These little changes can be a chord substituition. Or a twist of the tempo. A pause. A modulation. Hitting some higher notes (which I think u did). A second vocal Harmonize etc. The Chinese pop songs have a lot of these where we can learn from

Thanks CK

Really appreciate your comments. I am still very very new to song arrangement as this would be the second song I have tried arranging.

I have thought of some improvements that I could make to the arrangement but it just seem that I do not have enough time to actually put in those thoughts. The arrangement is actually draining my songwriting time. Not to talk about recording and mixing it and a full time job :D

But its really nice to hear comments to help me improve on my skills and music.
