i've always been waiting for a ligth weight version of the m3. with the triton le after the trtion , and subsequently the x50 after the TR, along with yamaha and roland trend to develop gigging boards( fantom->juno-G, motif ->mo6,->mm6)....it seems inevitable.
today i just made a ramdom long awaited trip to citimusic...and lo and behold, wat a nice surprise to see this sleek black beast:

but they hhoked it up to a pretty weak single moniter, doesnt seem to do the board much justice.
i tink 20% of the sounds have the same name patches as the triton, the le, and tr adn the x50..hmmm...that kinda puts me off a bit..and the much hyped EDS system isnt reali tat much of an upgrade over the HI system IMHO, sonically speaking. however there is much improved flexibiliy for sound sculpting , along with the much apprecaited 5 insert effects instead of one in the le, and x50.
also, the combi modes now boosts 16 maximum prog instead of the 8 in the triton series.
compared with the m3, theres no karma but it claims to be karma software compatiable.
generally it feels like another mide memory and lightweight upgrade gimmik again from korg....but the design and weight reali appeals to me.
been gigging with the le for 2 years and my sore shoulders almost made me changed to juno g .
also comtemplated upgrading to the TR, but it doenst seem to justify the bucks. now kog is tempting my wallet again with the m50...omg..ahahahah....i am reali going to give this some serious tot....the buttons of my le are getting crappy again.
the m50 buttons and casing feel solid. the touch screen is a welcome.
and i also love the way the user progs and user combis have therir own last category slot instead of hidin behind some other "keyboard category". makes yr customised pataches more accesable. and i used to expliot the sequencer mode to utilise the 16 tracks to create customised patches . now the m50 lets combi mode have 16 instead of 8 progs, with the user combis in a category of their own. reali tempting for me man....hahhaha...
wat u guys tink..i tink triton users and x50 users shld give this board a try man....and lets see if its reali worth the upgrade..
