marc, maybe u can try calling the apple number or going down to their stores to find out if they have old stock. their website prob still carries the old stock too (i think lah). worse come to worse, go sim lim find.

e.g. "if you are not buying, don't ask the price..."

e.g. "i give you this good price now, if you don't buy and walk away to another shop, then you come back to me because my price is the lowest, then horh, i don't want to sell to you anymore..."

All these ah beng salesman talk are plain childish, but they often amuse me. i love SLS. :lol:

just got my refurbished ipod... called them, ordered, and delivered at my doorstep within 4-5 hours of my order being confirmed... though there are a few bumps from talking through the phone to a total stranger in australia...

phone ordered = faster delivery

when it came, it was clean as a whistle, but the silver part of the ipod (5th gen) got dirty, being a "careful" user, i used my spectacles cleaner and wiped the smudges off and saw some minor scratches... blugh...

anyone can recommend me covers, be it those expensive transparent sticky tape or condoms or hardcase??? which one's the best In your humble opinion... ??

and how much and where to get em...

for the 5th generation one that ive got, im using some kinda rubbery like protector that u can slot ur whole ipod into. It covers everything except the screen - but ive got another layer for stick on plastic protector (those like hp kinda) on the front and back.

Mine's scratchless n clean as new after about 2years.

Or u can try the leather wallet like pouches for a more sleek look =D

the 30gb ones are 288 and 60gb are 318...

anyways where can i purchase the stick on plastic covers for the back and the front.. i don't wanna scratch this baby anymore...

btw, did u get the plastic covers straight when u first bought it or a few days after u bought it?? coz if u bought the plastic covers a few days after u should be having some smudges already and needs to clean it with something right??

pasar malams will have...screen protector and the stickers for whole ipod. only 1 i know of now i geylang serai. or if u have some time, go ebay singapore or yahoo auctions, got tons of pple selling the above plus rubber sleeves and leather cases...take yr pick, might be cheaper than pasar malam too

The iTouch is really cool looking. No native FLAC support, however. =(

The German Trekstor Vibez is quite cool, too. Supports FLAC out of the box.

There is a reason why the 6g ipods are cheaper than the 5g ipods. They have simplified the audio circuit making it cheaper to manufacture. However sound quality (both hardware and software side) has suffered as well. The most all rounded ipod now is still the 5.5g until Apple comes up with some ways to improve the SQ of the 6g. Google is just a webpage away.
