neoclassical metal

Hey guys, anyone here influenced by neoclassical metal? Examples are Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Uli Roth. It would be cool to arrange classical pieces into rock arrangements and perform with an orchestra.

I totally agree! These musicians are really gods of guitars. They play really awesome music and they are so talented. Their music lives on forever.

In the list mentioned by the thread starter, 2 of my biggest idols are listed. Blackmore and Rhoads. Especially Rhoads.. with him combining classical influences with metal ( 2 ends of the spectrum into one ) has left a very significant impact on me. I will never forget how i was blown away the first time i heard Crazy Train and then Crowley. And yes Rhoads will forever be the guitarist i respect the most. Surprisingly i have incooperated more of Blackmore's stuff into my playing than Rhoad's..

I feel that Blackmore and Malmsteen really feel the music, unlike most modern alternative guitarists whereby they do not display such emotions and technicality. Not many people nowadays aspire to play such songs, especially with an orchestra. Great to hear from all of you.

I think Michael Angelo Batio is as good as those guitarists mentioned above. Especially when he played Tribute to Randy. That song is my all time favourite. Another is Zeppelin Forever. Watching him play live on Youtube was really an eye opener. Especially his speed, super fast, can kill. This guy is possibly god.
