Hey guys, I just bought a 2nd hand guitar and I'm just started on electric guitar. I have no knowledge on electric or whatsoever. I have a few qns to ask: where can I repair my guitar? Like change the screws cos they rust, repair the scratches, and see whether th guitar is still able to be played. And another qns, can acoustic amp be used for electric? Cos I'm on a tight budget and I don't feel like buying another amp.. Last qns, how can i start playing? Where to start too x.x and what's scales and licks? Sorry guys, alot of qns

depends on what problems ur guitar has...if u cant tell what problems it has then maybe u can show some pics and we have a look :)

I have some screws that needs to be changed.. Some dents that's real bad. And I'm planning to change the tuning machine too. Any place u recommand to change these parts? And I'll try to do the changing on my own to save money too.. Can acoustic amp be used on electric guitar?

Hmm. Screws can buy yourself. Dents... Dents can't really be helped unless you wanna go to a pro. And acoustic amp i'm not sure. Never tried it. There're many cheap cheap amps going on the buy sell section, you might wanna check that out. And lastly licks are kinda like riffs. (if i'm wrong please correct me! This is not my area of expertise) Certain songs you play those in the verse and sometimes chorus... Or bridge. Yeah. Scales are notes inside a key.

Thanks for ur help :) can I change tuning machines by myself? Cos I wanna save a bunch x.x

Hahah. Well, that's a lesson to learn. Next time check the condition before buying a guitar. If possible test it. And tuning machines, can buy from Davis if i'm not mistaken.

Eh, Composer Of Requiems has quite a few threads on them. i'm following what he's doing, plus i got some advice from the luthier Malcolm Tan. He's superb. But beware. Buying a guitar is easier. Seperate parts are more expensive, especially pups and all. Plus you need to know how to wire the pups and electronics and tone pots. I'm doing it for a friend's birthday. Hahah.
