Here what I found from Swee Lee

Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro (With case)
Gibson Studio Deluxe II 60s

Or I just go for Gibson Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute to save some money?

Or wait for Gibson Les Paul Studio 2015

Or Epiphone (But I read a lot of adjustment/fine tuning need to be done and also worry of quality)

I prefer rock/pop but not metal and mellow sound.(not harsh)

would love to hear your opinion.

Les Paul type, you could go for Rally or Uno Singlecuts, available at SV Guitars, less than 1k. Or the LTD series from ESP. Davis sells those. Or go for 2nd hand, then you could see MIJ stuff. Lots of good stuff under 2k definitely.

My suggestion is go Made In Japan, second hand.

Gibson is made from where?

Anyone have line 6 variax? Is it good? Can use for long term?

If youhave decided on a Gibson Les Paul because you like the look and the sound of the guitar, then IMHO it's gonna be hard to find the same substances from a different brand.

If i were you, I'd go with the Studio Pro, because it has a Burstbucker pro and the 57s pickup, which to me are the best sounding pick ups in the current GIbson LP core line. The standards and many other premium models uses the Burstbucker Pros and 57s too, so they are gonna bring you closer to sound more authentically like those models.

ya I like the Les paul look. I prefer sound more mellow like 57. At the moment my eye on Studio Pro but still open for option.

I also eye on line 6, Anyone have experience on Line 6 JTV 59? A bit worry if too many tech parts inside need a lot of maintenance.

Les paul look there are a lot, especially the MIJ ones like Burny, Tokai and Greco. Newer ones would be Bacchus, Edwards (By ESP) and FGN Guitars. All these are definitely under 2k. Cheaper if second hand. Buy/Sell forum have a few.

Since you ask me Gibson is made from where, its USA. But if its more about the brand, then I would suggest the 2014 studio pro. 2015 models are abit more expensive now. You could consider the Les Paul Special as well, it just doesnt have the carved top.

I agree. People can slam Gibson all they want about overpriced, qc etc... A Gibson is still a Gibson. To be honest, the Japan made copies are fantastic value for the money and are nice guitars. However, there's still something about the Gibson that sets it apart from the rest. The 'Gibson tone' isn't easily replicated, for lack of a better expression. If you want that sound, get a Gibson. I like the 57 classics as well.

If you want a Gibson, get a Gibson.

If you want a Les Paul shaped guitar, there are plenty of awesome copies out there as per mentioned above.

If you're planning to get the 2015 Gibsons keep in mind that they won't arrive in Singapore that quickly

Thanks for all the input. Will go check out the Gibson.

Difficult for me to buy used as I not expert to check guitar condition.
