Need recommendation for pedal on Vox AC4TV8 tube amp

Hey there,

I've been learning the guitar for 6 months now.. and have been using the amp without a distortion pedal until now..
I have however tried the EHX Nano Metal Muff, but found that the sound produced is a bit too grungy for my liking.

Could I get recommendations on decent to good distortion pedal? preferably one with treble mid and bass settings


P.s. The AC4TV8 has only the volume, tone and wattage knobs

Give us more reference on the kind of sound you want to achieve. We'll give you recommendations from there. After that head to the respective guitar stores to try the pedal and hopefully buy it with a grin of satisfaction on your face .

P.S. please try the pedal on an amp with similar characteristics as yours in terms of sound.

The metal muff is by name.. a muff type.. it's gain territories are very much inside what it is intended for. like relinquish69 says you need to give us a little more information about what it is that you are trying to achieve. If you like what you hear on your AC4 and you're simply wanting more of that you hear with a little more gain/volume slight bit of tone manipulation.. i'd bet that you want a OD pedal more than a distortion type.

I'm still incredibly pro Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde! It's an amazing pedal if you mix both channels for your lead, not too great for rhythm but its still an incredible pedal!
