Hey guys. My school's prom's next week and my band has to come out with a tracklist to perform during then. Its rush, i know and its not my fault. The school just had to organise the prom one day after the last O level paper and tell us only last 2 weeks. My O levels haven't finish yet, still have 2 papers next week before prom commences.

I personally like metal, but you know in singapore schools they don't approve of metal. Shitheads.

The 'limitations' of genre is like, pop, rock, punk. I don't listen to these genres so hope you guys can help me out here. Mainstream recommendations will be good cause everyone will know what we're playing.

P.S I'm the drummer of the band and I'm kinda rookie, so not so hard songs. And not too high keys like Jonas brothers kinds. Haha, paiseh and thanks ! :D

remember that the prom is about everyone having a good time, not just you.

play songs that everybody can and probably will sing along to.

Welcome to the world of "The Top 40s Band"!

Play what the casual music listener likes. Its all about them now.

wonderwall by Oasis....that song is brilliant. danceable numbers like we are scientist's' nobody moves'..

yea..right now thunder by boys like girls and I'm yours by Jason Mraz are the main hit on the airwaves...must be songs that everybody likes.

eric clapton - beautiful tonight

'muse - time is running out' is good for A level prom, since most of the guys would be going to Ns

hahah! . Oh my school's prom is right after the last paper. Well...great song would be some stuff by Michael Bubble?

If I were you, I'd tell your school to screw off. I'd never play anywhere where they say "no metal". Have artistic integrity, but in the end, if the temptation is too great, no metalhead will blame you... Your call.

wonderful tonight-eric clapton
slow dancing in a burning room-john mayer
Truly Madly Deeply- savage garden
hit me baby one more time- britney spears

you can do some changes to certain songs and make them sound a bit heavier, it is still good.

who say cannot play metal?

got so many power ballads to choose from.

haha.

and my school's prom is tommorrow.

mugging for it now.

but my band's song choice is damn crappy, cause there's like no acoustic stuff the ball room is bad and there's no keyboards.

oh yeah, you can play " i walk beside you" by DT. ==]==]

where's your prom held btw?

Hey jude-Beatles
Me and mrs jones-Billy paul
Don't let the sun catch you crying-Ray Charles
and last but not least....
Wake me up before you go go-WHAM!
