Hi guys,

Basically I'm very new here and also pretty new to the beautiful instrument, guitar as well .. I started playing like a year ago and I've still got A LOT to learn . Can I propose a question coz I'm a total newbie here ..

I've got a "gig" coming up .. Well all this time I've been using a Modtone Extreme Metal pedal , JUST THAT PEDAL . I've been to gigs and watched friends perform and stuff and they always have a pedal board with full of pedals in them. Can anyone please enlighten me by telling me what's essential in a pedal board for a newbie like me. And I play .. kinda pop punk and a little of punk rock ... basically the easy stuff . Help me out here guys ? THANKS !

it should consists of pedals that helps achieve the type of sound/tone you want. what is essential to me may be useless to another person. any samples of sounds that you're trying to achieve?

Khai has a point, with multi fx units you get to try almost all sorts of effect units.

Thanks for comment bro .. Err tbh i don't even noe wads that but i went to check it up its the one which has the toggle switch with many effects on it right ? Hmm ... And i read something up that says if you jus get a multi-efx pedal you don need to buy single pedals .. is that true ? if so , where can i get this pedal , those affordable ones ?

thanks for ure comment bro .. hmm .. maybe sound like ATL , Blink 182 , maybe something poppish like Maroon 5 ?

yeap ill do more research into the multi-fx units ..

Multi efx is like a compilation of almost all of the effects around.
They range from $100 to $600 or even more.
You can usually get a cheaper one from the buy/sell section.

For me, i use a multi efx because buying individual pedal will be too expensive and i still don't know what tone i wanna go for.
Pedals are usually for people who know what tone they are looking for and what they want.

However, all the multi efx sounds different. Therefore, try the unit or do a research before getting one.
Some may like the sound of the multi efx while others prefer single pedal.

All these are just my opinion though !
Cheers ! :D

If u have iPad or iPhone give jamup a try... It lets u use your iPad as an effect. U can also get an apogee jam to plug it to the Mac.... Works great. Not much latency which I can feel... And lots of effects at low price.... When u are sure u like certain effects.... Then buy the real thing... Or just continue using the iPad? Lol
