Need help with pedal and Amp settings

Hello i,ve been playing guitar for a while now and now besides focusing on being able to actually play, i would like to focus on sound more.

Right now i own a DS-2 and DD-5
Also i frequently go to Lcube where they use Line 6 amps.

I do experiment quite a bit with my efx and different tones but i,m still a little blur about stuff like

Tone on my DS-2. I hope i,m not mistaken but increasing tone sharpens your sound?

And stuffs like Bass , Mid and Treble on the amps

Increasing Bass gives your guitar a more deep sound? er call it solid?
and i suppose Increasing Mid er i dunno what that does so i usually keep it at 12 o clock
And increasing Treble makes your notes higher up on the fretboard sound even more higher pitch?

I was hoping someone can clearly explain to me the functions of these.
well cos i hope not only to improve my playing skills but also to know how to produce the sort of sound i want. well at least to a certain extent

bass, treble, mids are all frequency shaping parameters

in simple term, as follows,

tone control is like treble control, the lower it goes, the more muffle it gets, the higher it is, the shrewer the tone will get

bass is frequency in the lower end of thing, it make the sound fat, thin etc

mids, like the name, lies in the middle frequency. It sorta adds muscle to the tone, thicker, but not fat like bass

treble is in the higher frequency, the more it goes up, the brighter it is

all the about can be used to shape the tone you wanna, but not changing the pitch(increasing treble will increase the brightness, it wont alter pitch as you go higher on the neck)

if you wanna technical explanation of it, try googling for "equalization"
