I have a Boss Chorus CE-2 pedal which is badly scracted and stuff...it isn't mine and my brother lent it to me. It belongs to my brother's friend. Alright i was changing 9 volt battery when the leather thing which contains the wires that are to be attached to the head of the battery tore.

Is there any way to kinda like seal it back? Its difficult to explain in words.

Alright i will try my best , unscrew the lid , above the spring is this black button with 2 wires attachted to it. the wires lead to this leathery pack that contains some elctrical stuff right? the leather tore open. So anyway to close it back? Super glue? My brother will kill me....

oops, that sucks!!

Maybe can try using a little little bit of super glue to attach the torn area back. Use a toothpick to put the glue onto the point.

Inside the leather thingy should be just 2 wires, red/black leading to the battery connector part. Nothin too complicated in there.

Maybe its also good to let your bro know bout it. If not, misunderstanding might happen

hmm...thanks but just wondering which of the leather do i aplly super glue to?

Will the glue melt if the energy and heat keep passing thorugh and heat builds up and melts the whole glue down the battery and stuff?

i think its highly unlikely that the current will melt the superglue. VERYVERYVERY unlikely, that is if you stick to 9V source.... The current's most probably about in milliamperes, and with a 9V source, the power's only about in terms of milliwatts ? (Power = current x voltage)

I would recommend that you take out the entire circuit board and then solder a new 9v battery snap.
should only take a few minutes. desoldering 2 joints n soldering another 2.

i wouldn't say its really leather....but feels like it i suppose. a 9v battery snap has 2 wires running from 1 end (usually with one red and one black) and another end has 2 metal clips of different pattern to allow you to snap on to a 9V battery (i think the packaging for the normal square type battery is known as PP3), hence the name battery snap

if you want, you can drop me a mail at overdodo@Hotmail.com

i can do it for you for free... pretty darn fast job. okay, maybe you just need to pay me for a snap (50cents ?) (provided you deliver the pedal to me and you come and take it back !)

Alright i brought it down to the shop at ghim moh just near my house and the guy sealed it up with super glue. hope it sticks back together without exposing the internals.

heyo thats good to hear,

its not a guitar shop you are talking about right ? I live about walking distance from ghimmoh, at doverrise there, and don't know about any guitar/music shop in ghim moh.

Han

yeah its not a guitar shop , it sells all the barang barang , electronic parts and handphone repair. The one opposite the market next to the flower shop. Next to coffee shop.

btw wheres the nearest guitar shop to ghim moh? i snaped the B and E string.

oooo electronic parts as in those phono jacks, solder, solderstuff, but they dont' sell electronic compartments like resistors/capacitors/integrated circuits right ?

ghim moh nearest guitar shop ah ? wakemeupmusic ? not sure if they sell guitar strings, either that or luther at west coast or anchorpoint the music shop. I think wakemeupmusic is the closest.. just get on commonwealthavenue west and its straight down

Han

heh thanks . maybe i will go there this Friday...or should i buy a new set of strings...maybe get beez to see my guitar too since my guitar keeps buzzing when i hit an open string and the buzzing comes from near the nut.
