Need help with amp set-up

I'm playing for my brother's concert band on the 30th Dec for a concert. The bands like those school bands with the flutes and trumpets, but of course this is one of the best. :D It's the Yuhua-RV alumni band

anyway, I need help cuz I'm actually playing a funk wah guitar part. It would be mainly chord work at semi quavers with alot of "pop" to the sound. So I need help with my amplification.

I have a Podxt Live, an Ibanez gsa 60, and a 15 watt peavey practice amp.
How do I amplify that to a sound big enough to be heard under all the brass and metal. I need alot of emphasis on the peaks of the wah as it's rhythmically eccented. Even though my pod can go through the PA, I don't want to. I prefer to sound more like just another instrument in the band than someone playing over the PA.

Any help will be appreciated, I need to know what kind of amp to rent and the pricing. Thanks in advance.

have you had your rehearsal with the band yet? how does it sound? maybe you can send from your POD to your guitar amp and the PA and mix it nicely?

I haven't played with them yet, but just at home , my bro's flute is drowning my practice amp. And brass is alot louder than silver. So I suppose.

about the PA, I really don't want to sound like my sound is coming from speakers around the audience, I want to sound like my amp is just another instrument sitting in the band. You get what I mean? though I suppose the PA is possible too, but the PA during rehearsal will just be school speakers.

doesnt matter abt amp size..get it miked out to the PA & volume adjust to suit levels in monitor and house ...

You need a 'performance' class of amp. Yes acoustic instruments have quite a high decibel ouput when performing. Especially an essemble of them.

Standard 100watts guitar amp should give you plenty of headroom to work with. For eg. my favourite Peavey Bandit. Loud enough, but still can be carried by one man easily.

If you get smaller like 50watt or 65watt, you are taking a gamble. A 15watt practise definately cannot cut it. (Amp brands are subjective. Some 50watt can sound as loud as other 100watter)

Then you need to depend on the conductor to let you know if your ambience sound is too loud or soft.

I think line ups like these normally don't have monitors. Mainly using condenser mics to pickup the ambience sound, to feed to the main speakers. Thus the PA cannot set too high gain, else feedback easily.

ahhhh...PEAVEY Bandit ...MY fav amp for many years.... esp the old 1st issues - clean & quiet with umpphhh....
