Eggman417,
The decision to purchase a mixing console is a BIG one, with many factors to take into consideration. The obvious ones are the number of inputs, busses/subgroups, aux sends/returns etc. The most important one to think about will be its function. Are you going to use it for live sound - FOH (front of house) or stage monitoring? Studio? Some mixers are better at certain tasks than others so you will have to consider your needs carefully.
Also, have you considered the digital route? With anything needing more than 24 channels a digital console can offer several advantages in terms of scene recall, reconfigurability and not to mention not needing racks of external outboard.
A very important thing to consider if you are doing rental/events is reliability/serviceablility and tech support. You do not wish to buy a top-notch mixing console only to have nobody in the country who can service if it case anything goes wrong.
So even before you look into brand names it would be wise to examine the requirements and make your choice based on what best suits your needs.
Cheers
