fgl: I don't get you, if the pickups he'd already bought are not matched in terms of impedance and output.

yep dats exactly what I meant - I've done dozens of wiring jobs whereby newbies bot pups that DONT match impedence levels - many a time they dont know what they're buying ...I'vr even had ppl wanting to mix active emgs with passive seymos, DiMarzios etc....

As for wiring, suggest the guy go into some on line buyer shop e.g stewmac at

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electro...ickups/Instructions/I-GOLDEN-AGE.html#details

etc etc - quite a number of sites available online...or buy the "bible" Dan Erlewine's Guitar repair guide

OR...

take it to Beez ... (doe yr $5 wont cut it beb) .....

There are people in Australia who take a car, go for a half-day ride into the city, just to fix their pickups by a tech, and half a day to ride back home to enjoy their new pickup after paying $20 odd dollars for the job.

Apparently hard work is relative.

from wat i've seen.. u shld reflect on wat u have done and ur reponses to some of them.. anyway just google for wiring diagrams and just hantam.. if anything goes wrong.. then bring to one of the guitar techs to troubleshoot for u.. otherwise.. stop asking pple to help u if u dun even help urself..

lol. i think he msged me too.. frm simei.. wanna trade wah for pickups.. low price already still wan me install for him.. lol.. dude.. this is a time taxin job.. $5 is an insult and we take it to heart ya..

Hmm.

IMO I'd be mentally prepared to pay another guy 25 bucks for ANY job requiring electronics on an instrument.

1. Electronics for me is rather hard to grasp.. I'll admit it, and I'll leave it to the pros.
2. because of the above, when I pay them well I expect the job to be well done.
3. I'm not a cheap person, and I don't look down on others, thinking that they are cheap.

Only one time I didn't pay for an electronics (crackly tone pot) job was when I brought my guitar to the shop, they lost my tuner (apparently one other customer stole it.. I dunno how but that guy stole it) and the cost of the tuner offset the cost of the job. :?

Moral of the (sorry for being so long-winded) story is: don't be so damn cheap.

5 bucks cant buy even 1 mac'donalds extra value meal... u expect people to do it for u?? its either u are a retard or u are retarded....

u are not even polite in the first place... not saying that i am... but come on... these people here deserve better treatment.. they took the time off just to even reply...

and ur apology... sounds so forced... people ask u to say then u say...

i tell u what la... just go fly a kite..

thinking back..5 bucks is rilli..cheapskate.the least he cud do is like.find out the rates..

and if i were him..

if the person is to actually come over to my place..i'd actually give more..for the transport and well...buy him lunch as well...

at least to show some appreciation..tts the least i can do..
