Hi people from this forum! I am new here~ glad that I spotted this music forum as I'm seeking help :/ I'm totally new to electric guitar so I do not know much of it. As far as I'm concern, I'm planning to get my first electric guitar real soon :D

So back to topic, I'm considering buying the rally gl-300 as my first guitar but I cant find any good reviews nor videos bout it. Also a good built in-amp with effect to start with. Did some research and narrow down to nux mighty 15w or SD mg-15dfx.

Does anyone knows my above choices are good for a starter? Or maybe you can fill me in with any good beginner guitars or amp, budget about below 600 total :/ for home use. Thanks !

Hi, welcome to this awesome forum :) . If your budget is below 600, you can actually get a used Epiphone les Paul standard and a used SS 15w amp here on soft.
But make sure you do a lot of research so as not to get cheated.
PS:I'm selling a Marshall MG15FX for 135 in good condition. :P

@keithtan: Thanks! but I still do prefer first hand stuff though :/ and yup, researched quite a few days ago already. In fact I though of getting epiphone les paul but some of the reviews told me it wasnt good :/

@psg74: Really? Haha thanks! but i'll dont wanna be stuck with one choice. So any guitars+amp to intro within my budget?

@vidak: hmm these few amp looks decent to me, but small. I'm actually looking forward to getting 15W amp. Mind if I ask whether is 15W amp is normal to use at home or these small amp are the suitable ones to use at home? (i'm living in a 3-room flat btw)

There's actually plenty of reviews, here's a video review for the rally: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMdJk7NXQ_4

The gl-300 is my current guitar (actually my only electric) and I'm actually pleased with it. Though it's my first electric, I have tried other lp copies in the similar price range and the rally is the only one that gave me the tone that I like. I paired up my gl300 with a NuX mighty 8. Compared to the Epiphones, if I'm not wrong, the Gl-300 are heavier? I didn't try the Epiphones for too long back then, so I can't tell the difference now. You should go down to SV guitars and give it a try first. Remember, get what is best for you, not get something that some other people worshipped and later a few months later you'll be putting up an ad in the buy/sell section.

Oh, actually I kinda into those rock songs, so i'm not pretty sure will these guitar get the tone I want once I know how to play well.
Yea, later i'm heading down to SV @woodland to check it out. Maybe gonna get one later there that's why i'm really anxious to know the reviews and maybe get more choices of guitar+amp to chose from.

Btw people, how much does a guitar bag cases cost? and other than getting a guitar and a amp, is there anything else that I need such as pedals for a starter? sorry if i'm asking too much :/

If you're getting an amp with built-in effects, I don't think you need any pedals right now. As for the bag, I'm not sure.

Haha don't really need effects la. just distortion and maybe delay? Actually, secondhands aren't that bad. There are bound to be lemons among Epiphone guitars, so if you are buying at a shop, test all. No guitars sound the same. So pick the one which you like best. :)
