Hey all,

Firstly, I'm a new member of this forum.

I'm thinking of getting an acoustic guitar since i have a classical one

As for guitar shops, I've heard much about peninsular plaza and bras basar.

my budget is around $200.

Any recommendation u can post here.

It would be great to post web links for me

I have to decide in a few days time.

Thanks :)

Jack and Danny from Ranking Sports, my friend. Most of the dudes on soft will vouch for this brand.

Here's a link to their webbie: http://www.jandd-guitars.com/dg-solo.htm

Of course, if you're willing to fork out abit more cash, Takamine's a good choice too. I think they're being sold at Davis at Penin but I might be wrong.

Jack and Danny. Takamines are good too. But as with all low-end guitars, make sure you play it first because quality control can be quite inconsistent.

Hi Refuito,

Whatever the guitar you're getting. Don't forget to maintain it. For lower end guitars, chances are the production cost are cut right from the cost of raw materials.

Newly felled trees are cut and dried. The longer and more carefully dried planks would take up space and manhours thus increasing the cost of the planks before it reaches the manufacturing line. As such, it is likely that lower end guitars are built using wood that has still high moisture content.

Over time the moisture might dry up and it not maintained well, the drying may be uneven. (This is a long story but to cut it short) Along the way, you'll be changing strings. Keep 6 of the old A strings of the same gauge or two sets of the wound strings (E,A,D). If you happen to notice your guitar neck warping iregularly, these strings might just be handy for some corrective work.

Hey mee too. hehe. I live pretty near SV. Are Acepro acoustic guitars good? I forgotten to give it a go when i was there a month ago

maestro has lower ranges to higher ones. but if you really want very cheap ones, like $80, try davis guitars.

just head on down to peninsular plaza, im sure you'll b able to find a guitar with so many shops there.

OUCH! Is acoustic that prone to scratches? o.O But an acoustic doesnt look like an acoustic with a pickguard. I mean its the 1st thing I notice bout a guitar

But does pick guard have like quality differences? oh oh. and if i buy from maestro can I get them to fix one for me? sorry. noob here DX
