Hi i just bought a ibanez Gio from japan
and it came with a whammy bar.
I need help installing it..
anyone has a guide to teach me?

How different do you expect it to sound?

Sorry thats quite funny.

OTS, what exactly are you asking? I believe shouldn't the guitar already have the whammy attached on the guitar? if not how does one string it up?

And if it's already on as it seems to be based on your comment on it sounding the same as before a whammy installation, so whats the problem?

i think you need to screw it in. like wad ladyintears said.. then if you want to have a different sound, you must push it down. like push the whammy bar down. and the string will loosen. and the sound will change.

at first, when i have my first guitar, i thought the whammy bar changes the sound by rotating it. LOOOL.:lol:

After the bar has been screwed in, push it down towards the guitar body when playing to 'dive', which would lower the pitch. If yours is a floyd rose-equipped guitar, you can pull it away from the body to raise the pitch too, but for a normal tremolo unit only diving is possible (raising the pitch can only be done to a certain extent by making the tremolo unit 'float')

LMAO you seriously damn cute man, hahahaha.

what does your bridge look like? Does it have a lot of round knobs at the back? If so, you have a floyd rose whammy bar. If it is plain flat it's a normal tremolo unit. A normal tremolo unit allows you to push the bar downwards (into the guitar body) which lowers the pitch of your note. For a floyd rose you can both raise and lower the pitch (pull outwards and push inwards respectively) However a floyd rose is a ***** to maintain and tune. If you have a floyd rose i'd suggest you look up on some videos on youtube on how to maintain, how to tune, and how to change your strings.
