Guys I need help buying pedal..I play songs like metal and i thought of buying a distortion pedal...In a tight budget of $30 , what kind of brand can i get??Hopefully i can get 1st hand stuff...I have a choice which is DANELECTRO FAB METAL pedal...Anyone can tell me other brands that is within my budget??THANKZ...

$30 for a pedal is really hard to find.. u can only find second hand pedals or maybe even third hand pedal if u want good sound quality and durable.. the best is fab

If you're willing to spend more, you'd get something of higher calibre..
You get for what you pay, and the fab metal would leave any player desiring for more..
My suggestion? Save up and get a Boss Mt-2; hopefully a Beez modded version..

you might want to extend our budget abit if you want to get a decent distortion pedal. But if you're on a tight budget, you can try searching on the buy/sell section. There are behringer ultra metals going at about 30-35 (including mine. Heh.)

Since you guys said buy 2nd hand products,so what kind of brand should i buy??BOSS??coz i wanna play mostly metal...METALLICA ,A7X...

Its not that i dont trust used stuff, but im afraid if i regretted buying used stuff due to spoilt sound e.t.c...

but with that kind of budget , second hand is somehow a better option . there's nothing wrong with getting second hand stuff .

Do not buy Behringer... I tell you. It's just a waste of money and time. I bought the distortion model before and it''s just pure crap. sorry for Behringer users... but why settle for less if in time you'll going to regret it? I say, save your money, then buy a pedal that has at least a re-sale value... an investment in the near future.

Had this in line when i wanted to purchase a high gain pedal:
Danelectro Fab Metal
Boss MT-2 (Beez Modded)
Rocktron Metal Planet
EHX Metal Muff

First off the list : Fab Metal..
To me it sounded too thin.. Even if its ultra cheap, so is the tone..

The other 3 were pretty solid contenders in their own right..
But second off the list was the Rocktron Metal Planet; it was a good pedal, just didn't really fulfill the "metal" portion well..

In the end I settled for a Metal Muff, if 2nd hand can get it at roughly 100 dollars more than your fab..
But the tone is 100 times better too.. Lol..
Can try the MT-2 too! Cheaper and solid.. Just that the installed switch was too tiny for changing during a song..
Chose the metal muff cause of its dual tonal options with the top boost! ;)

Budget of $30??!!!!
3 reasons why you should save up and NOT buy FabMetal.

1. It sucks
2. It sucks.
3. It still sucks.

MetalMuff with TopBoost is my suggestion. Satisfying (really.) at $180 lst hand.

Agree with the rest, save up... get a better pedal. The EHX MM is definitely a good contender, so is the Uber Metal.

But save up, get something worthy...
