Need feedbacks and advice on Epiphone Masterbilt DR-500R

Hey guys!!

I was thinking of upgrading my guitar! currently using a Maestro SD-2!! cheap, but sounds great! but thinking of investing on a new guitar that can last me for a few years!

Just wanna have some feedback from you guys regarding the guitar i mentioned in my thread title! A few questions that i have in mind:

1) it's a full solid guitar, but why is it priced fairly low compared to the other full solids? isit because it's lacking in the craftmanship, or because of the brand name?

2) how long do you guys think can this guitar last me? cause i've heard that full solids will age over years.

3) lastly, any of you here using it? any feedbacks or comments? Please try to be as critical as possible, cause i wanna hear the good and bad points! :x

1) actually u can find many full solids than less than the masterbilt. u can get a full solid from 400+ I'd reckon. Epiphones were always meant to be a more affordable brother to gibsons. While they don't have the flawlessness of the more boutique brands, it'd be hard pressed to not be impressed at the quality it gives. The finishes are ok and sometimes u see lil imperfections here and there but that shouldn't push u away.

2) Guitars, full solid or not can last a lifetime if taken care of..

3) Played a couple of them when I went hunting with friends.. it's one of the loudest guitars i've heard.. very strong projection. Quite bassy as well. I think the added depth in the body helps... it's about half and inch thicker than most taylors i've tried, so that equates to alot more sound.
Doesn't really chime as much as some other brands, could be the way they're braced or the quality of the wood. I do notice that the rosewood on these models are stained so dark it's hard to see the grain. Whether that's a tactic to cover imperfections in the wood I wouldn't know. but, for that price, it's still good value.
