Need Amp Recommendation

Hi,

I've decided to buy a set of electronic drums.

It will be either the Medeli DD602 or the Yamaha DTXplorer.

I was also told that keyboard amps will suit it well due to the full range of frequencies production.

1) Are keyboard amps really recommended?

2) What will be a good keyboard amp to buy with a $300 budget?

Thanks in Advance

:D

it doesnt really depend on the type of amp man. its the amnt of watts. preferably above 50 so that the bass drum wont blow the amp.

Hey man... The mideli DD602 is from the ranking right?? i didnt chcked if it was dual zone or not.. mind clearing my thoughs??

thanks..

Dual Zone

Nope,

I've played it and it's not.

I don;t think the module is ready for dual zone also, whereas the DTXplorer's module is dual zone ready.

Meaning if you connect a dual zone snare drum, it will be able to support.

Hope this helps. :D

Keyboard amps are mostly used for DD, should do the job fine. Although low watts amps you need to place it facing your ears and the kick sound will be weak.

Roland, yamaha & peavey are good, but price tag is higher. Lower cost ones like Laney CK30, Smarvo KS??... can get you bigger amp for less money.

There are amps which are built specifically for DD. These are pretty pricey anyway.

Main thing is not to drive the amp till the sound 'crack' or distort.
